LOKA’S SUMMER UPDATE 2017_18
DOLPHIN CENTRE, TIN CAN BAY
From November 6th we will be including entry to the Barnacles Dolphin Centre at Tin Can Bay. This is for all northbound or southbound customers departing Rainbow Beach and heading to Noosa or Emu Park. Travellers are able to pay an extra $5 if they want to take part in the wild dolphin feeding at the centre.
TIMETABLE CHANGE: We will now be departing Rainbow Beach at 7am 4 days per week. It also means that we will have a couple of hours to chill in Noosa before the group continues their journey north or south. Travellers can do the Carlo Sand Blow walk at sunset on the day prior to departure. This experience is available for north or southbound customers on the Mick, Stu, Kat, Trev or Cam passes.
We are now running 6 departures for the Blue Mountains (every day except Monday) and have a sexy new bus on the road for it! Prepare for an epic day of adventure to see some of the most spectacular scenery in Australia. Spot wild kangaroos, hike to the stunning Wentworth Falls, enjoy a picnic lunch and then we trek to a gorgeous remote waterfall and lookout for a swim.
We head up to view the famous 3 Sisters lookout to take a couple of selfies, before driving back to central Sydney for a well-earned drink! Come join us on the Loka Blue Mountains Day Trip.
SPOT X SURF CAMP & WILD KANGAROOS
We have a great new package at Spot X that includes dinner, bed and breakfast for $60. This allows the groups to hang out more with the Spot X crew and get the real surf camp experience. The meals at Spot X are fantastic, with all dietary requirements catered for. It also means we now have time to stop to spot wild kangaroos on the headlands on the way!
LOWDOWN: $60 package book via Loka web app, or upgrade to a multi-day Surf & Stay.
Our wilderness camp stop has been getting fantastic feedback from the beautiful surroundings to the classic local characters that run the centre. New for summer is the campfire on the banks of the river and the option to choose between staying in their private/quadshare cabins or sleeping in swags under the stars.
FEEL GOOD NEWS: The centre is run by local volunteers but thanks to the regular Loka groups coming through over winter, they’ve been able to have their first full-time employee on the payroll!
This experience is available for northbound customers on the Mick, Greg or Nat passes.
TULLY RAINFOREST EXPERIENCE
Our rainforest camp is back from 14th November! Get deep into the World Heritage listed rainforest within Tully Gorge National Park. This is a unique opportunity to see such a stunning and different part of the East Coast. DETAILS: $120 for camping, dinner, breakfast, swim in scenic swimming hole, wildlife spotting, expert guide, and interpretative walk to learn about the traditional use of the land. Opportunity to join in on a rafting trip in the morning before departure.
This experience is available for northbound customers on the Mick, Stu or Kat passes.
Our new stop on Great Keppel Island has been going off. Travellers are raving about the beauty of this remote tropical paradise; being able to snorkel the Great Barrier Reef right from the beach, seeing loads of turtles, manta rays and reef fish in the crystal clear waters; and of course taking part in the Loka Treasure Hunt.
LOWDOWN: This experience is exclusive to Loka and available to both north and southbound Loka travellers.
